All Souls

On November 2, I will honor Fr.Joe Corriveau, O.M.I, by having a rose placed in his honor at the All Souls Remembrance Mass held at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.   And I want to do the same for the loved ones in your life who are now experiencing eternal life.

Father Joe often sent emails to his brother Oblates updating us on his work in Haiti and making sure that our benefactors knew how important they were to our success. In one of his last emails from Haiti, he wrote:

“Please make sure the donors know that we appreciate their prayers and their sharing with us and the people of Haiti. Their interest and missionary spirit gives us the courage to keep going. My fellow Oblate priests and brothers and I are grateful for their generous help and the concern they manifest for us. Make sure they know we are remembering them in our prayers and daily Mass. May they be generously blessed by the Lord!”

And today I echo Fr. Joe’s thoughts. May God bless you for your generous heart.

Our All Souls Remembrance is both a solemn and joyous liturgy.  Solemn because we remember our loved ones who are no longer with us.  And joyous knowing that they are now living in eternal life.

beginning 8:30 am
