The Oblate Service Corporation is seeking applicants for DIRECTOR OF MARKETING position at the Oblate School of Theology (OST). The Oblate School of Theology is a graduate and professional school that provides education in Catholic theology for the church’s mission and ministry in the world. An avenue to
bring together diverse cultures, OST educates for mission.


POSITION STATUS: Full-Time, Exempt

SUMMARY: The Director of Marketing is responsible for the creation, planning, developing, implementation and evaluation of Oblate School of Theology’s marketing strategy. Plans, directs, coordinates and supervises the Marketing Coordinator and creative content contractors toward the accomplishment of objectives. The Director of Marketing’s main responsibility is to promote and constantly improve Oblate School of Theology’s competitive position and secondarily to promote the programs at OST.

Develops, maintains and manages the marketing plan for the School including directing the Marketing Coordinator and creative content contractors to execute the full range of marketing tasks having to do with digital and print communications.

Establishes a digital strategy and plan for all digital platforms. Establishes a plan to revamp and maintain OST website. Works with VP/IA to create alumni relations communications plan. Works with VP/IA to centralize email/mailing lists used to communicate with donors, alumni, students, continuing education participants, parishes, dioceses, groups using OST facilities and other target audiences. Builds relationships with parishes, dioceses, universities and other organizations. Sets strategy to recruit students. Maintains marketing budget. Other duties as assigned

WORK HOURS: 40 hours-flexible-includes some evening and weekend hours.

EDUCATION/SKILLS: Bachelor’s degree, required. Minimum five years of experience in marketing/digital media or related field, required. Experience working in higher education and/or ministry preferred. Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) preferred. Creativity and outside the box thinking. Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite and social media management, required. Experience in website management: Word Press and analytical tools, required. Must have Interpersonal skills with the ability to build consensus using a collaborative style. Commitment to OST’s mission, vision, and values. Must have ability to manage multiple projects across multiple departments.

Demonstrated experience developing and implementing marketing strategies as well as developing and implementing creative content. Proven understanding of how to utilize social media and emerging new media. Able to take mission of OST and transform it into exciting and useful messages and disseminate those messages to the right audiences through the best distribution channels. Must be self-directed, highly organized and detail-oriented individual
