The Oblate Missionary Society, Inc. a division of Oblate Service Corporation, is seeking applicants for a Full-Time Systems/Network Administrator. The Oblate Missionary Society, Inc. is a nonprofit mission development and fundraising office, located in Belleville, Illinois and San Antonio, TX.

POSITION: Systems/Network Administrator

The Systems Administrator assists in installing, maintaining, and securing all computer system and networks for the Oblate Missionary Society, Inc. (OMSI). This role assists with end user support, web server deployments and website hosting. Experience in the administration, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of networks, servers, workstations, data storage, and cloud services.

Full-Time- Exempt Status Location– Belleville, IL

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the administration, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Microsoft 365 with active directory in hybrid environment, Azure, MS 365 Exchange and Office 365
  2. Provides Help Desk support, responding to help request and incidents in a timely fashion
  3. Assist in the administration, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of firewalls, server hardware, server software, and network storage (Windows Servers, Web Servers, SAN’s, NAS’s)
  4. Assist in the administration, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PC’s, MAC’s and printers
  5. Assist in System security management and user account management in multiple systems
  6. Assist in the administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of multiple organizational networks included both private business networks and internal public networks
  7. Maintains network operations including cabling, LAN/WAN, VoIP, VLANs, and wireless communication
  8. Assist with performance monitoring and network issue resolution.
  9. Assist in the administration, implementation, troubleshooting, and support of Meraki firewalls / wireless networks.
  10. Assist in the implementation, troubleshooting, and support of VPN as required by the organization
  11. Administer, troubleshoot, and secure web system servers and web hosting environments.
  12. Helps maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documentation for networks, systems installations, and systems operation
  13. Helps maintain an inventory of all network and systems hardware and software
  14. Assist with system back-ups and disaster recovery
  15. Responsible for staying current with technology by consistent developing IT skills through Internet classes, seminars, or attending college during or after work.
  16. Other duties as assigned by the IT Manager / IT Director

Qualification Requirements

  1. Must be effective at interfacing extensively with end-users, peers, vendors, and other Information Technology personnel to resolve technical issues and questions
  2. Must be able to effectively diagnose and resolve system hardware, software, and network issues.
  3. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  4. Must have an aptitude to research and quickly learn new technologies to support all aspects of the IT department and supported organizations.
  5. Must have strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks as organizational needs change effectively or issues arise
  6. Must be a self-starter and be able to work alone or as part of a team

Education and/or Required Experience

  1. 2+ years minimum experience in networking/infrastructure technologies and systems support.
  2. Highly proficient in desktop IT technologies (Windows 10, Mac OS X, Microsoft Office including Office 365, Adobe, etc.)
  3. A solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and Internet fundamentals
  4. Understanding of Windows registry, group policies, event logs, application log files, and other configuration/information files
  5. Experience with Windows Server installation, configuration, and administration
  6. Experience with Active Directory management and troubleshooting
  7. Experience administering MS Exchange in M365
  8. A broad understanding of Storage and Virtualization technologies
  9. Experience with virtualization with MS Hyper-V
  10. Experience administering firewalls. (PPTP, L2TP, SSTP, Meraki firewall, and wireless, etc.)
  11. Experience with anti-virus and anti-spam applications.
  12. A good understanding of network, system, and web hosting security best practices.
  13. Experience with Zoom, MS Teams, SharePoint, and MS Reporting Services is a plus.
  14. Experience with IIS administration is a plus.
