One of the most well-known collections of the sayings of Jesus is the Sermon on the Mount in the Gospel of Matthew. What is not so well known is how much of the Sermon is devoted to justice in the community – life in the Reign of God. In this presentation we will examine the economic and social implications of Jesus’ new covenant in the Sermon on the Mount.
