Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows
A Perpetual Pilgrimage Site
We invite you to consider a trip to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois (just outside St. Louis, Missouri) when planning your next faith-based journey. It’s the perfect place to rest and renew your spirit.
With over 200 beautifully landscaped acres, Our Lady of the Snows is the largest outdoor Marian shrine in the United States. During your visit, join us in the celebration of Mass-held two times daily at our church of Our Lady of the Snows. There are numerous devotional sites for prayer and reflection, including a replica of the Lourdes Grotto in France. We also have a gift shop, guest house and full-service restaurant on the grounds.
You may want to consider bringing your group during Holy Week to experience the Shrine’s inspirational liturgies, drive or walk through our newly-constructed outdoor Stations of the Cross, or witness a recreation of Christ’s Passion in a live-action theatrical Way of the Cross presentation.
You can join us at our Annual Novena to Our Lady of the Snows July 28 – August 5. The nine-day novena is a special time of prayer and healing for our visitors.
If you’re looking for something with a more festive flair, take your group on a Journey to Bethlehem through our Way of Lights Christmas display. Each year over 100,000 visitors relive the story of Christ’s birth depicted on a one and one-half-mile course that features more than a million lights and a life-size Lego® Nativity scene.
The National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows is featured as one of the “20 Pilgrimage Sites across the United States Worth Seeing” according to Religious Travel Planning Guide. We invite you and your group to plan a pilgrimage here.
