Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows
A Perpetual Pilgrimage Site

When considering pilgrimages trips throughout our region, we invite you to consider a trip to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville.  The Shrine, located just outside of St. Louis Missouri, is featured as one of the “20 Pilgrimages Sites across the United States Worth Seeing”, according to Religious Travel Planning Guide, and a perfect destination for a peaceful and fulfilling renewal of your spirit in Christ.

With over 200 beautifully landscaped acres, the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows is the largest outdoor Marian Shrine in the United States and one of the best areas to encompass all the religious factors in your pilgrimage.  Mass is celebrated each day at the Church of Our Lady of the Snows and our devotional sites are full of history and art depicting the different images of Mary and Jesus.   Our campus and unique devotional sites are designed for prayer and reflection, including a replica of the Lourdes Grotto in France.

This year, we are excited to offer the “Arctic Wings and a Shrine” mission exhibit.  This informative and interactive exhibit explains how the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows came to be and the Oblates behind the inspiration.  It combines education with fun, interactive illustrations of what it is like to live in the arctic and to understand the Oblate religious order and missions, both past and present.  The exhibit is open Monday through Sunday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, excluding holidays and is in the Visitors Center of the Shrine.  Individual or guided tours available.

Throughout the year, we offer a variety of experiences to deepen your faith including Holy Week celebrated with the Shrine inspirational liturgies, our 9-day Novena in August and our Way of Lights Spiritual Christmas display depicting the journey to Bethlehem through millions of lights.  The devotional sites on the Shrine Grounds are open daily including the Mother’s Prayer Walk at the Annunciation Garden Bell Pool, Our Lady of Guadalupe Hill, the Main Shrine featuring two beautifully decorated chapels, and our outdoor Stations of the Cross, which allows for driving or walking through.

We would love to work with you to create a perfect pilgrimage for your group to rest and renew your spirit.
