Church of Our Lady of the SnowsHellmuth, Obata, & Kassabaum, Inc., the designers of the Church, gave careful attention to creating a worship space that would serve the
particular needs of those who visit the Shrine. It was completed in 1990 and designed to meet the need for indoor worship space to accommodate the many visitors to the Shrine.

Icon of Mary

In the gathering space is a stunning contemporary icon of Our Lady of the Snows, presenting her Divine Son for our contemplation and our
imitation. Iconographer, Basil Lefchick, followed the centuries’ old rule of fasting and praying while executing the stylized images of Mary and the Baby Jesus.

The Living Waters Font

Continually circulating blessed water reminds us that we are God’s people passing through the waters of Baptism.

The Sanctuary

Liturgical Consultant, Fr. John Bascemi, designed the oak altar, pulpit and tabernacle. A 15′ x 20′ double “Aurora Borealis” window adds brilliance to the sanctuary and to the sacredness of the altar. A Holtkamp Pipe Organ lends its melodious voice to the voices of the faithful.
