Director’s Message

Dear Pilgrims and Visitors,

Fr. Andrew Knop, OMIOn behalf of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, I want to welcome you to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.  Inspired by Our Blessed Mother, we offer spiritual renewal and refreshment on the often difficult and challenging journey through this life to our heavenly Father.

Through worship and prayer at the Shrine Church and our devotional sites, and surrounded by the beauty of nature, each and every person can find the peace and inspiration that lead to closer union with God, who is present here in many mysterious ways.

At this “spiritual oasis” Mary, the Mother of God and our Mother, gathers us, hears our prayers and intercedes on our behalf before her Son, Jesus.  The yearly Novena to Our Lady of the Snows attracts hundreds of people seeking healing and hope in their lives and expressing their gratitude for prayers answered.

Throughout the year we offer programs and presentations that enhance the spiritual lives of our pilgrims, by bringing them closer to God.  The Shrine also offers a hotel for overnight stays, a restaurant to enjoy delicious meals, a playground for children to have fun and to learn about God’s creation, and miles of roads and trails for prayer and meditation.

On behalf of the Shrine staff I invite you to come and experience for yourselves the beauty of this holy ground, and to be touched by the gentle presence of our Blessed Mother Mary and her Son.

Sincerely in Christ and Mary Immaculate,
Fr. Andy Knop, OMI
